Starry Karoo is the dream observatory of Thierry Payet, a french amateur astronomer. Located in Sutherland, a few kilometers away from the South African Astronomical Observatory, home of the SALT 11 meters optical telescope, it benefits from a cloud free sky with very low light pollution.
